Welcome Home
At Huntington Seventh-day Adventist Church, you’re not just a visitor—you’re family coming home. We are a vibrant, Christ-centered community where people from every walk of life and background find genuine belonging. Rooted in God’s Word and united in faith, we gather to worship, fellowship, and grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our Heart
When you walk through our doors, you’ll hear laughter echoing through the halls, smell food cooking in the kitchen, and feel the warmth of genuine embraces. We’re a diverse family—shaped by Caribbean heritage and strengthened by God’s grace—where worship is joyful, fellowship is abundant, and no one leaves hungry (spiritually or physically!). Here, the Holy Spirit moves through our worship and the corporate study of God’s word, reminding us that following Jesus is meant to be experienced in community. This is where faith meets fellowship, where strangers become siblings, and where God’s love is experienced in every interaction.
Our Mission
The Huntington Seventh-day Adventist Church is a family united in Christ. We welcome everyone with open arms, warm hearts, and a place at God’s table. Through joyful fellowship, authentic worship, and genuine love, we walk together in faith—and through the word of God, we strive to help each person discover and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
To be a Christ-centered community where people from every background find belonging, experience God’s transforming love, and grow as disciples. Like a family gathered around the table, we share life together—breaking bread, lifting prayers, and pointing one another toward Jesus. Here, you’re not a visitor; you’re family coming home.
Our Core Values
The Huntington SDA Church Core Values help build a strong foundation by clarifying what guides our ministry, shapes our church family, and influences how we serve. They do not replace the Word of God but highlight key biblical principles that support healthy church life. These values answer, “Why do we do what we do?” and reflect what matters most to us as a family united in Christ.
WORSHIP
We gather as family to honor the God who welcomes us home.
Worship is where our family meets with God—in our daily lives and in our joyful gatherings as believers. Since God is the “audience” for our worship, our primary goal is bringing honor and pleasure to Him through reverence, celebration, and thanksgiving. In worship, fully aware of His presence, we engage our whole selves—heart, mind, body, and spirit—through prayer, music, the teaching of His Word, and lives of obedience.
Our worship reflects the warmth and joy of our diverse family. It’s not limited by style but flows from hearts truly engaged in exalting God. We offer a variety of expressions that honor Him, encourage spiritual growth, and welcome both the believer seeking deeper communion and the seeker discovering Christ for the first time. Here, worship feels like coming home.
GODLY LEADERSHIP
We follow servant-leaders who shepherd God’s family with grace and wisdom.
God Himself orders the affairs of the church and calls its leaders. Our leaders serve with Christ-like character, not “lording over” but walking alongside the family as servants. Pastoral staff, elders, and lay leaders work together to discern the Holy Spirit’s leading and set vision for ministry that reflects God’s will.
We are committed to developing, recognizing, and supporting leaders who embrace team ministry and equip every member to use their gifts. Leadership at Huntington is shared broadly—we depend not just on pastors and elders, but on every family member’s commitment and giftedness. This shared ministry reflects our belief that every person has something valuable to contribute to our family’s mission.
DISCIPLESHIP
We walk together in faith, helping each person grow closer to Jesus.
Christ’s Great Commission calls us to be and make disciples. Discipleship at Huntington is relational—we introduce people to Jesus, walk with them as they grow in faith, and equip them to share God’s love with others. This happens naturally when family does life together.
Every believer has spiritual gifts and is both a learner and a guide. We provide opportunities—Sabbath School, Bible studies, small groups, and mentoring relationships—where our family grows in understanding God’s Word and deepening relationships with Him and each other. Through study, teaching, and hands-on ministry, we empower one another to mature in Christ and fulfill the Great Commission together.
CHILDREN & YOUTH
We nurture the next generation as a multi-generational family.
Children and youth are not the future of our church—they are part of our family today. We partner with parents to support the spiritual nurture of their children, recognizing that parents hold the primary responsibility for training their kids in faith.
Our youth-focused ministries complement the home by providing a safe, supervised environment where young people develop spiritually and relationally. We give them access to diverse spiritual gifts within the body, create spaces for them to exercise their own gifts, and develop young leaders. The church family surrounds our children with godly examples, creative teaching, and authentic relationships that point them to Jesus—always supporting, never replacing, the parents’ role.
OUTREACH
We open our doors wide and invite everyone to come home.
We live the Great Commandment—love God and love people—and the Great Commission—go and make disciples. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we reach out with the good news of Jesus Christ, inviting people into our community of faith to worship and serve God.
At Huntington, outreach means expanding our family table. We intentionally break down barriers across race, culture, socio-economic status, and background, making room for everyone. We work locally and globally to make a difference in the world God has called us to reach. While staying doctrinally grounded, we minister in creative and culturally relevant ways, adapting our methods to meet people where they are. Here, you’re not an outsider looking in—you’re family coming home.
STEWARDSHIP
We honor God with everything He’s entrusted to our family.
God is the source of all life, and everything we have is a gift from Him. We honor God by faithfully, joyfully, and sacrificially giving our time, talents, spiritual gifts, financial resources, and tithes for His kingdom work.
As God’s family, we’re responsible for caring for what He’s given us—our building, our resources, our health, and each other. We practice biblical principles for spiritual, mental, physical, and social well-being. We’re committed to God-centered planning, effective use of resources, and excellence in all we do. Every ministry and activity must align with God’s purposes for our family. We hold ourselves accountable, dependable, and dedicated to bringing glory to God in everything.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
We grow together as we learn God’s Word and apply it to our lives.
The Bible is God’s Word—our supreme source of truth and the foundation for spiritual development. Every Christian has a responsibility to grow in their faith through daily time with God in His Word, prayer, and study. This is where transformation happens.
As a church family, we equip one another by providing teaching, inspiration, and resources for life change. We support our members through relational discipleship and our students through biblically-based education. Christian education at Huntington is accessible to everyone because we believe that when we learn together, we grow together—and growing together is what families do. We direct our resources so that every person can reach their highest God-given potential.
Our Beliefs
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. Our beliefs are meant to permeate your whole life. Growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God, we are invited to explore, experience and know the One who desires to make us whole.
